Speaker power supply ? Login/Join
Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I know this a long shot but will try anyways.
I have a pair of older Altec Lansing computer speakers but missing the power supply.
I don't know the correct DC input voltage.

Apparently there is an OLD Altec company and a NEW Altec company.
The NEW company doesn't support the old products.
Model ACS 5.
Any chance any of you have a set of older Altec Lansing speakers and can tell me the power supply output is.

Any chance you could measure the plug (end into speaker)?
Ebay has options with 5.5 mm plug size.

You may want to hit a few thrift stores and look for one there. Good Will has stuff like that all the time.

I have the 295 with Subwoofer. You can find these on Ebay for a reasonable price.

I had those with the subwoofer. Until my dog chewed through the wires.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I would contact this seller on Ebay for a power supply:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/38813...d:g:fkwAAOSwssJnwHUI

This one may work if it has enough current output.

If you can figure out what size the plug is, you don’t really need an original power supply. There are plenty of generic 15v power supplies that will put out 1A of power. Some probably even come with multiple options for the plug at the end that can be switched out.
