My Neice and her husband are having a house built there in a newer neighborhood.

They escaped from Chicago where she went to nursing school and worked at Northwestern ICU while she got her PHD and is now a Nurse Practitioner.

From the map and the little research I did it’s a little north of the Dallas metro area.

What’s the good, bad and ugly about Celina?

Celina is growing like crazy, new houses and apartments are popping up everywhere.

In many areas, the road infrastructure is not keeping up with the new neighborhoods. Construction traffic is tearing up many narrow asphalt roads.

I ride out their often to one of the college campuses I work for. I used to love taking the back roads to avoid traffic and enjoy the countryside. Many of the roads I would take are now torn up and not worth the effort to ride my motorcycle on.

Other than that and the growing traffic heading to Frisco and Dallas, I love Celina.

Yup. It’s on my normal route/ride. Been riding/driving the area for 20+ years. Nothing but subdivision after subdivision, new stores coming in soon, etc. This was once a rural area and relatively untouched for almost 20 years. Great twisty roads, and definitely small town vibe, and slow. Not anymore. Now it’s CUV after SUV after CUV, etc. Population increased 50% between 2015 and 2019. Place is chalked and destined to be just another suburb. Suburb after suburb, after suburb. All the nice smaller towns 40-45 minutes North of Dallas, just getting ruined by people flooding into the state. They are building bullshit all the way to the Oklahoma border. It really sucks seeing these great rural areas get decimated by people moving in from out of state. This native is trying to get the fuck out due to it.
