I’m now the proud owner of a nicely restored ‘66 Ford Galaxie 500 2door fastback style. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=whit...14701e201dc4683e.jpg
This stolen image is very close.

Now to my question, C-5, MLKYWAY, or save my money with the homely collector plate.

My brother in WI got rid of his because he was afraid of the kids falling through the floorboards.
It was a great car up to that point!

Does the fender tag say 428?

Is so I’d have “BIG FE” as that was the largest displacement FE engine available in 66 Galaxies.

Given my background, I'm a fan of aircraft references on anything. For example, my wife's Audi A6 has the fake European front license that says NTRUDR Smile

I vote for C-5

There was supposed to be a Big Grin. There. My ‘49 has a custom plate.

Really, an original one would be cool - I think some states let collectors use antique plates if you can find one.

66289C4 (or something similar) could work.

ROUTE66

OLD GAL

Check to see if you can use a vintage plate (usually has to be the same year as the car).

My 67 Pontiac 2+2 is registered to a authentic 1967 Michigan license plate.

Michigan historic plates are $35.00 for ten years or $45.00 one time fee to use authentic year of manufacture plates. I’ve been using YOM plates on that car since 1994, think I’ve come out ahead on that deal.

My dad’s Olds 442, 1985, which I still have, always had and still has A20 JOCK as the plate. He flew A-20’s in New Guinea in WW II.

“BIG FE”

If it has a 428, or even the more common 390, that is a totally appropriate plate. Not many people will get it, but it might pique their curiosity and become a topic of conversation. Ford FE V8, 1958-76

Although the year and body style don't quite match, "1K80" (the call sign of Friday's and Gannon's car in the color Dragnet TV show, in which they drove a broadly similar car; might also have been a Fairlane) could be something to consider.
