She waited all day for me to remember on my own. Ashamed, I quickly made arrangements to take her to dinner at a restaurant chain where we went on our first date (a date for which I was 3 hours late lol). We had a great time and a good laugh at my expense. The rest of the story is that we were married on March 9th. This morning I noticed today is the 9th so I wished her a happy anniversary. She cocked her head and said it’s not our anniversary. I waited as she got up to speed and blushed. We chuckled at our old age symptoms. I confessed I still would have forgotten. Now she’s claiming she’s double dipping on our anniversary dinner.  Just thought I’d share. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier | ||

I haven’t forgotten one yet, but life happens and things slip through the cracks. I travelled for so much of our married life that my wife is conditioned to celebrate our days on weekends. We’ll have our 30th later this year (feels like 100), so I probably should put an alert on my calendar now. Happy anniversary! This is why for years I kept various "Hallmark" cards in my briefcase in case I forgot. Also whenever I had to travel for more than a few days, I always had a loving, thinking about you card that I would mail home on the first day away. _____________________________________________ I may be a bad person, but at least I use my turn signal. | |||
