Can someone please explain to me in simple terms the difference between them? I now have VLC for iOS installed. Used to hrun the Android version plus en extension on my previous phone. Can’t remember what was the reason for the extension/plugin. (Just for kicks, i want to try casting to my old, non Smart TV, that is network connected and supports DNLA.) But mainly i’m curious about the two apps. Big fan, long long time user. Thanks. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Think of it as the universal video translator from one OS and various media compression formats to a universal output. The original need was to convert TV type signals to computer video that used two incompatible systems. Overtime the program kept adding features and media formats so any video file could be played on any device that it can be installed on. The development is open sourced and run by a non profit.

I’m a VLC pc user likely since last century. Quite damiliar in general terms with it. Why would i load For Mobile on my iPhone rather the one for iOS? I still don’t get it. Forgive me for being a little thick in the head. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20
