Personally, I’m glad to see this.

“The four-time Tour de France winner, 33, was under investigation after more than the allowed level of legal asthma drug salbutamol was found in his urine.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada), which worked closely with the UCI, has accepted there was no breach and recommended the case is dropped.

The Briton said he was "grateful and relieved" to put an end to the matter.

The substance - which Froome says is used to help manage his asthma - is permitted without the use of a therapeutic use exemption but only within certain doses.

Team Sky said Froome was only 19% over the limit - not double as has been previously reported - when the adverse test was adjusted to take account of dehydration…”

As a cyclist I used to be such a fan of this event, Armstrong killed it for me. How many tests/investigations did he beat?

Sadly I believe Froome just hasn’t been proven to be a cheat yet.

I hate the Tour. Now. I used to love it. Who wants my historic SI cover with Lance on it? I'll sell it for a Les Baer Boss.

I watched the Tour from about '08-'12, really enjoyed rooting for Schleck in 2010.

After that, the train of team Sky made it less exciting. Seemed like there was much less attacking & more calculated riding. Was just a lot less entertaining to watch.

Perhaps not everyone cheats. Most cheats don't do this every day. Good luck staying in the top 20% if you don't.

Most sports should have 2 leagues. No enhancements zero tolerance for hard working mortals, and the Pills-N-Needles-Die-Young league.

The decision to close the case after all these months without any scientific conclusion in the face of pressure from the organizers of the Tour, who were threatening to ban him, was a half-assed cop-out by the UCI. It just further reduces their credibility. What a farce.

Personally i hope Sky dominates the tour but there are so many strong riders, young and old on all the teams.

Skip to 1:38:22 for the wonderful french peoples.

I love the Tour. I still feel Lance was a witch hunt, and the Euros were out to get him. Of course my opinion.

If you haven't seen Tour de Pharmacy I highly suggest it. More than a few parts are pretty crude, but I couldn't stop laughing. (Sidebar: I watched it on a Qantas flight and learned that they censor absolutely nothing.)

I watched as a kid with Greg LeMond, including the sprint finish time trial into Paris for his second win.

All down hill after him.

AS one rather old school and exceptionally dominating rider put it:

"You can't win the tour on mineral water and baguettes..."
