So I remember a few years ago this came up. Something about a cooler and fan. I have a decent sized styrafoam cooler. Any help.

My BIL does this when he car camps out of the back of his pickup/topper...

He just fills a cooler with ice, and blows a battery powered fan across the top of the ice (cooler top open/off).

I've not experimented with this, but he claims is lowers the temperature by 20 degrees.

Good luck & stay cool!

Try auto parts store for a radiator/cooling fan. They are 12 volt and available in different sizes.

Find one of the approximate size needed for the "host" cooler. And if you added a rheostat, you'd have variable speed to boot Big Grin

That's cool, you can get a 15w solar panel at Harbor Freight for $70 less 20% discount coupin...

Wonder how well this would work knocking the edge off the temps in the evening for the garage.

That used to be the old-timey way to keep a semi sleeper comfortable at night. Fill a five gallon bucket with ice and just let it set there absorbing heat.

We made a bunch of them at church for the local poor folks that didn't have AC, especially for a baby's room. We kept it cheap and used Styrofoam coolers and 120 volt fans.
