Remember that these stamps have no intrinsic value. They are worth what someone is willing to pay, and unfortunately that amount is far less than it was years ago. The same can be said for antiques in general. People today want experiences, not collections of things. Less demand, less value. Unless you have some EXTREMELY rare stamps, it may not even be worth trying to sell them. It’s can’t hurt to try, but I would’t get my hopes up too much. I’m not trying to discourage you, I’m just giving you an honest answer. Anyone who has been to an antique auction recently and also remembers what they were like 30 years ago can relate to what I am saying.

I remember collecting stamps with my dad, we'd go weekly to the Post Office and buy plate blocks as they would be worth more. "Its a good investment, they will always be worth their value in postage."

Funny thing is, with Forever stamps and more frequent price increases, set denomination stamps are actually worth LESS than their value. Check out eBay, you can buy older stamps for less than what they are worth. People don't want to do the math or mess with all those stamps, they just slap a Forever stamp on there and call it a day.
