Elon should just give his $$ to A&M it is a excellent conservative school.
And with his influence, stature and $$ he can help course correct any leftism that is slowly creeping into A&M.

Capitalism. You left out Capitalism. The Leftards REALLY hate Capitalism, though they benefit both directly and indirectly from it every day of their moronic, pathetic, miserable lives.

Does it receive any federal money or grants at all?

Elon is a great disruptor and he loves trolling the world. I would not be surprised at all if he calls it TITS University.

Maybe this is common knowledge, but his Tesla models are trolling the world.

He has the Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y

S3XY.

Classic Elon.

A) A&M is not quite what it once was. The Greeks have changed it, dramatically, as has the business school.

B) A&M’s endowment is “FU” money to Musk.

I can understand why he’d rather do his own thing, than give other people input.

C) It is a failure of A&M that it is, apparently, not meeting the needs of Tesla and SpaceX.

D) He may be using this as part of a way to shelter some money from death tax for his kids.

Yes... the best thing we can do for education is to get government completely out of education.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I'll have to question your list...

#51 Hillsdale College
#52 Franciscan University of Steubenville
#95 University of Dallas

All way behind #7 SMU on a list of 'conservative'?

If you’re referring to A&M the answer is yes. As a matter of fact when I did my graduate degree there my research grant was in part funded by the largest grant ever received by a university (at the time) I believe it was for $8,000,000 to study the effect of hyper saline discharge of water into the Gulf of Mexico as part of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve project.

I am proud to have played a very small part in that project.

Once Gates became Defense Secretary, it seemed like A&M became even tighter with the DoD.

At least among the people I stayed in touch with.
