There was a huge hype for the new Windows for Workgroup 3.1.1 and the blazing fast Intel 486 DX2 chip at the time we were ready to purchase our first computer. Apple Computer machines, with that two-faced icon, seemed strange and foreign to me. The Packard Bell and other PC machines seemed mainstream while Apples were the strange and awkward substitute. This Packard Bell 486 DX2 66mhz/Win 3.1.1 machine made me an instant PC/MSDOS/Windows guy. I waited in lines at midnight for the latest Windows OS releases, finally only showing up at regular opening time for Windows ME. I was a hardcore Microsoft guy until I messed with the computers at Best Buy sporting the new yet to be released Windows 8 OS. I HATED IT! It was a major slap in the face, so when the actual Win 8 OS release date came, I went to the dark side, purchasing my first Apple - a late 2012 Mac mini. There was a learning curve, but it renewed my interest in computers. I maintained my old PC machines, but I rarely ever used them - I had finally transitioned into a Mac guy.
