Many of you have heard of Joe Foss and his role on Guadalcanal, but I bet not as many know the whole story and what happened with him after that. It's a pretty interesting story.

G. Gordon Liddy used to have him on his radio show every now and then back in the 90's. I was a regular listener of the G-Man. Major Foss was always great on the show.

Thanks for posting that. Not the typical documentary but really had me at the end.

I read his biography decades ago. While he was a terrific Marine fighter pilot, he was just just as successful after the war. A giant of a man.

The Sioux Falls Regional Airport is also known as Joe Foss Field. This link has airport history plus a bio of Joe.
