Two weeks ago I went back and scored a bottle of Blantons and another EH Taylor Small Batch.

Interesting note, I learned the gift Shop now sells Weller Special Reserve with the same limitations as Blantons, one every three months.

Here in SW, Ohio, there are stores who will sell you a case, for cash. Oh, and Ohio is a Liquor State, so they have to sell at the State dictated price.

There was a metric shit ton of Weller Special Reserve delivered to the Cincinnati area today.

Stay thirsty my friends!

So much for this.

It seems Minnesota finally figured out who makes Blantons and Pappy.

Now I’ve gone from being able to have BT as my regular bourbon, to not being able to find it anymore.

I am going to have to try the "new" Four Roses bourbon. When I was a kid(a loooong time ago) Four Roses was not well thought of as a quality bourbon. I realize that a lot has happened to the company since then, and that their products have definitely improved. What would the group suggest in the Four Roses line?? I am not sure what all is available to me, but I can look.

That Wheatly Vodka is really worth picking up. One of my favorites.

The Four Roses of today is nothing like it was 20 years ago. The small batch is excellent. Even the yellow label is good theses days.

Absolutely. It's good and it's cheap.

My three months in Blantons jail ended in January. I visited once in January and scored some EH Taylor. I went down this past Sunday and scored Blantons and Eagle Rare. A good day indeed.

I did pick up a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel in KY, for less than what it costs in Ohio.

My annual Lenten ritual has begun, so I will not be enjoying any alcohol until after Lent.

I have enjoyed the small batch and small batch select. I just bought a bottle of their Single Barrel.

As you said, 20-35 years ago, Four Roses was not highly regarded, as I recall.

Four Roses has definitely stepped up their game. I do like Blanton's, and I can thank Zcar for that from a karma here back in 2010.

Thanx for the info on Four Roses. My search will begin!! I am very fond of 1792, Elijah Craig, and Knob Hill, but always willing to branch out.

Next week we're scheduled to tour Maker's Mark, Limestone, Jack Daniels and Buffalo Trace Smile

Still need to line up some other non-distillery activities. I think we'll try to get to Mammoth Cave and Lincoln's birth place.

Ronin, Buffalo Trace has been really hit or (mostly) miss around here lately.

If they have Blantons and we can get around any one bottle limits want me to bring one back for you?

Kentucky just might be my favorite state to visit.

Picked up some Eagle Rare at Buffalo Trace and was able to track down some EH Taylor, Wellers and Blanton's at one of the smaller liquor stores close to where we were staying.

If you are on Facebook, there is a What Does Buffalo Trace Have Today page. It tracks what they have available on a daily basis. While there is no rhyme not reason to what they make available, it may help predict what is available on the day you visit.

My daughter must have had a good time last year as she wants to go back on the bourbon trail with me again this year!

Going to hit up a couple of favorites (Buffalo Trace and Limestone), then hit some others that we didn't get to last year (Jim Beam, Four Roses, Lux Row, Willet...)

Will be counting the days down pretty soon Smile

Wowsa!
Here in NH Our atate liquor stores get a case every other month which last a whole 10 mins.
On occasion I will ask and they will say they have one bottle of Blanton’s out back. It never makes it onto the shelf.
Congratulations on a wonderful time!
