Alabama library caves after Brave Books and Kirk Cameron stand up to its attempt to deny Americans a venue

A library in Alabama has reversed its decision from earlier this week to cancel a book reading event.

It will now indeed welcome actor Kirk Cameron and his publisher, Brave Books, on Saturday, August 5, for the nationwide "See You at the Library" event.

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library System in Huntsville, Alabama, had said in a release on Wednesday afternoon that it would no longer accommodate the book reading event due to concerns about logistics and security as popularity for the event grew this week.

Almost immediately afterward, Cameron and Brave Books challenged that decision to cancel it.

Now, after law firm First Liberty Institute sent a letter to the library system saying it was "prepared to vindicate this violation of our client’s civil rights in court," the library system has reversed course, Fox News Digital was told on Friday afternoon.

The library has agreed after all to host Kirk Cameron, the Brave Books team and Riley Gaines, women's sports advocate, who will be accompanying them on Saturday as they stop by three different libraries for the event.

I’m getting a haircut not far from there this am. I’m going to check it out. Said police and fire Marshall will be there to limit attendance to 225 souls.

That would mean an unlimited number of leftists.

received 14 emails from a single account alluding to deaths and a plan to blow up the building. The man who made the threats, 49-year-old Mark Frakl of Connecticut, was arrested and will be extradited to Sumner County.

Mr Frakl should probably pack a toothbrush and make sure their are no perishables in his refrigerator.

Either it was indeed cancelled or it was finished by 10:45. I went by there and it was your basic Saturday morning crowd of parents and grandparents with children, genealogy type folks and students. Parking lot still had lots of capacity. No news cameras. No fire marshal, no police, no hordes of frothing leftists needing firehose baths and … no Riley Gaines Frown

Police in Alabama stop noisy protestors from disrupting Kirk Cameron library event

A maximum-capacity crowd heard book readings by Kirk Cameron, Riley Gaines — and sang 'God Bless America' on Saturday

Yup. I stand corrected. It WAS held at the public library in Madison (not Huntsville). Firehoses were indeed required but not used. While I was parked in the hsv public library parking lot trying to sort it out I checked the online calendar for the library and couldn’t find the event posted. Need to go back and look at the original sources to see if they changed the location or if it was always scheduled to be in Madison.

Meh. Either way it sounds like all of the attendees inside had a great time.

I’m just sorry I missed my Riley Gaines photo opp.
