ChicagoSigManAnyone in Cincinnati? Korean War Vet with no family being buried today
Link"A Korean War veteran -- who has no family in town-- will be buried in Cincinnati Saturday with military honors.
The public is invited to attend.
Korean War Veteran Hezekiah Perkins, 90, will be buried at 3 p.m. Saturday in Cincinnati's Spring Grove Cemetery -- Section 137, Lot 318, Space 1.
He has no immediate family living in the area, officials said, and the public is invited to his services.
Perkins prearranged and prepaid for his burial over 20 years ago. His family lives far from Cincinnati and their only request was that their loved one be buried with Military Honors.
Perkins served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Members of our Spring Grove Family will act as pallbearers for his burial.
Spring Grove Cemetery was established as a nonprofit in 1845, and was named a National Historic Landmark in 2007.
The cemetery is located at 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232 in Spring Grove Village."

ChicagoSigManDon't know if anyone here was able to attend but it does appear that Mr. Perkins was given a fitting funeral.

12131I read that there was someone, a complete stranger, who drove 100 miles to attend his funeral. His daughter, the only family he has, is in failing health and from far away and could not attend.
