Plenty ‘nuff spicy? Chicken plenty ‘nuff. crispy? And Boston baked beans? Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Black history month. February. The shortest month of the year. Racist!

There are a lot of really, really white folks around here who consider a meal of fried chicken, collard greens and corn bread a meal fit for kings. My company has a large manufacturing plant in a southern state with a lot of black employees. The CEO is a vegetarian (or vegan, not sure) and our cafeterias were redone to be more "healthy" in a few years. They are like a little food court - cold sandwich bar, salad bar, grille, international option, healthy option, etc. Part of the changes resulted in the southern factory not having fried chicken on the menu every day (along with the various other options), instead only once in a while. That about caused a rebellion, and I think it might have been viewed as racist not to let the employees have what they want. They had to return to having the chicken on the menu every day. And whenever I am there, that's what I get because it's GOOD.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Lefty Sig,

Same here. It's not like they served dog for Asian History month. Everybody eats fried chicken. Well, except for vegans. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Someone here enlightened us to the fact that the Japanese(?) have KFC for Christmas, as a newer tradition. I can imagine some Japanese students showing a "wha?" face as result of this. Rejecting blacks from chicken. No chicken for blacks! From now on! Except for my black friends. I'll have to smuggle chicken.

KFC got into China in the late 90's and they have a ton of stores now. Except it's a bit different than KFC here. You don't get a 1/4 chicken dark or white with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. You get a bunch of sandwich options, or popcorn chicken, or wings that are kinda skinny, with a side of egg tarts (like a little quiche). But no "normal" fried chicken, oddly.

I agree. We have fried chicken maybe once a month as the mood takes my half-Welsh wife. Maybe it's a half-Welsh thing?
