Strange behavior by a trespasser in my yard
A guy who rents from my neighbor was carrying kayaks across my yard with another guy. When they headed back to the truck, one of them took out what looked like can of snuff or dip. Then it appeared he intentionally sprinkled or spilled some of it in my yard about 10 feet apart. When I asked them about it, they first said he didn't spill anything, then he said it was nicotine, all while trying to hide the can in his fist. The odd parts about it is the powder was white or cream colored, and I never saw him attempt to snort or put it in his mouth.

Perhaps he was out of bread crumbs.

Anthrax? A beloved pet's ashes? Salt? That's a weird one.

Should have asked them, “When is harvest time?”.

But carrying kayaks through your yard doesn’t raise any concerns?

My thought when I read the title: "Strange behavior" is redundant with the term "trespasser."

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Next time you see them, ask if they have an extra set of pedals. Trapper189 needs them.

Was probably a can of nicotine pouches, and some in the can broke and he was disposing the broken ones.

On the scale it sounds fairly harmless. Some people are weird, just something to deal with.

Nicotine pouches... huh. Never heard of them. What does one do with one?

It’s just tobacco in a pouch. If you don’t like the traditional chewing tobacco. I think pbslinger probably has it right. Just another rude neighbor.

Hold them in your lip to absorb the nicotine through your gums. Similar to chewing tobacco pouches, just without the tobacco and without the spitting. They have nicotine powder inside instead.

I was cutting wood at a lady’s house yesterday, lives alone, 65 or so. She had a strange lady drop in the other night after dark. This other lady was out for a walk at dusk into darkness when the local coyotes started yipping.

The yapping caused her to be nervous & afraid, though around here it’s the coyotes that are nervous & afraid, of getting shot.

The lady of the house ended up giving the other a ride home.
