Over the past couple of years my favorite Armor belt has taken a beating and kept on going. That said, I’ve gotten a few paint streaks on the portion that sits across the back of my waist, most likely from sitting in painted wooden chairs.
I’ve tried strait up saddle soap to no avail. Searching online suggests using a light application of cooking oil on a cotton cloth to rub out the paint. No dice either.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to get these off? I plan to polish the entire belt after getting them off.

Trying to do it myself. Not because I don’t want his help, but because I know myself. If I ship it off to him for refinishing I’ll order another one to come back home with it.
But yes, I’d thought of that, just didn’t know if I was missing a simple DIY solution.
May hit up the shoe repair shop tomorrow.

Start with weak chemicals like windex. If that doesn't get it go to isopropyl alcohol. Denatured alcohol if that doesn't work. Goof Off if the alcohol based solvents can't get it. If goof off doesn't do it, acetone. But the stronger chemicals may also damage the leather and its finish. In fact, I'd even start with very hot water.

Try using leather conditioner and really rub it in around the paint while lightly scratching along the outer edge of the paint with a fingernail. The paint should lift off as the oils in the conditioner get under it.

My advice may be terrible, but I would try acetone on a cotton swab. It should remove the paint.

I have the odd mark here and there of paint on my belts, solder on my pant legs, and pipe dope on shirts. The dope comes off but everything else I let stay.
