Ever since I read a recommendation here for Samsung TVs for their picture quality shortly after I joined the forum, I’ve bought Samsung TVs. The 75” TV I bought February last year started dropping its WiFi connection every time I turned it off. The patch fix required unplugging the power plug, wait a minute, then plug back in. Called Samsung. They walked me through resetting the TV; that didn’t fix it. Sent me instructions to update the firmware via USB stick; that didn’t fix it. They said I’ll be contacted for a technician appointment to come to my house. Then they called to say no technician was available and they’ll just send a replacement TV. I called because I had questions. I wanted to make sure the specs were comparable and the extended warranty will carry over. I also wanted to inquire about the possibility of getting an 85” instead of my 75” but still with comparable specs. I was willing to pay a reasonable up charge. After being on hold for a couple of minutes for the rep to check what was possible, she came back to say they have an 85” model in the same 4K resolution that I have, 2023 model, that they can send with no charge. I told her I was satisfied. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. My story is not quite the same. After 4-5 visits by techs, each one saying the TV was messed up, it would be followed up with a call saying that the TV was within specifications. After 6 months of battling them, they finally concluded that the TV was now over a year old and out of warranty even though it was only a few months old when the problem started. Finally I threw a hail Mary and wrote the VP of America's. About a month later I got a call from his secretary, they decided to refund 1/2 of the original purchase price. Even after the less than spectacular customer service I received I've still bought three more high end TVs from them which is out of character for me, but I've not had any problems since and have been able to sell or give away all of the TVs working like new. I've got 3 Samsungs [2 smart, 1 dumb] a Vizio & an ancient Panasonic [I think]. The Viz & Pan were inherited from relatives & see little use. I definitely prefer the Samsung UI to the Vizio by a longshot. Don't see myself defecting to another brand. Our primary is a 2018 Series 8 65" & it sucks to see how much cheaper they've gotten in comparison to what we paid back then. No regrets & was pleased to be able to get a 75" for the patio for sub $1k. Luckily, haven't needed any warranty calls on any of them. The Enemy's gate is down. | |||

This model: Model QN75QN85BDFXZA yes, the truck that will deliver the new tv will get the old one. I suspect it's a known problem since after the reset and firmware update, they said they were going to replace it. I suppose they're hoping a number of them will be connected via ethernet and the wifi won't come up as an issue.
