I know some may be interested in this.
Northern Tool has a cut rate deal on a tool box set. $400 off a $900 set.

I have been looking to add some tool storage but have held off for various reasons. I wanted a bigger set but this will do, ordered one. A few stores still have some in stock but order online and ship to store is free,
$548.74 with tax for a 41” set. The other sizes are not listed at this cut rate.

For what it’s worth, a pimple faced kid in the store told me that Northern was switching to another brand for their in store tool boxes and that may explain the huge discounts… He said the store couldn't even order any more. Can’t confirm this.

This might not hold up to commercial use IDK but should be good for a home gamer like me. Just wish it was red to match my existing box. I may kick myself if they put the larger ones on sale later... OR... I may order a second set if I really like the first one.

Hummm...
I see Amazon has pretty much the same deal so it may be a Manufacturers deal. However Amazon adds $190 shipping for just the base. Eek
Couldn't find the top chest at Amazon.

I wish I had a Northern Tool close. I do enjoy perusing their catalog.
I have US General Rolling tool chest from Harbor Freight and I also have a Craftsman.
The US General has much thicker steel walls and the ball bearing slides are a lot more smooth than the craftsman when there is a bunch of weight in the drawer.
The US General was a fraction of the Craftsman price.

The Husky boxes from Home Depot are only slightly more than that, and very heavy duty.

I've compared husky to snap-on and I think the husky is a better box.

I have this exact pair that my local NAPA store had on sale for $700. It's not SnapOn quality, but it's a great rolling toolbox and chest. I keep mine in my shop and would buy another for the hangar, but shipping the beasts would be $500 additional!!

This is a great deal for a fairly high quality box/chest.

You are correct! I looked everywhere at chests last fall, including Home Depot, and didn't see any that cheap... missed it somehow I guess. I was at the time mostly comparing larger boxes though. These are the "professional" versions of the Homak so hopefully they compare well in quality.

I have that set, I bought it from northern tool on sale for about 650.00 ish 2 years ago.

It’s a great tool box. Mine has been solid. At that price it is a great deal.

Nice tool chests but $400 shipping. Ouch.
Nearest Northern Tool is in Texas.

I've been working on cleaning up an old Craftsman grey chest and cabinet, but with no ball bearing slides the drawers are not nearly as smooth.

I was just going to say that HD has some very competitive boxes that are equal if not better.
Not a bad box at NT though.

I noticed a huge display of US made Craftsman boxes in Lowes last weekend.

I have one a few years old that serves my needs but it is no where near as thick of steel as my dad's from the 70s. His has zero flex.
