Motorists along Interstate Highway 35 witnessed the rescue as a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter crew came to the worker’s aid, reported KTVT.
He was later taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for burns from the pole rigging. The Farmers Branch fire chief said the worker also suffered from dehydration from the heat.
He is expected to fully recover and return to his hometown of Denver.

OKCGeneHow do you climb a flagpole like that? I couldn't tell if there were any foot pegs or whatever.

Rey HRHI won't ever need rescuing from a 175 feet pole. Thank you very much. Not even a 17 feet pole.

dewhorseAs a person who manages tower climbers and have climbed myself I am shocked my the lack of safety some people have when doing this type of work.
Who ever he works for will be getting a visit from OSHA very soon.
Not seeing any pegs I wondering if they used a lift...which do break down...with people on the tower....then you have to call the FD
Ask me how I know
