I really got into Rend when I was doing youth summer camps a few years back and mentoring a young worship pastor. My buddy who was mentoring me in doing camps was big time into Rend. "My Lighthouse" is a great one, "Oceans" is always a great camp theme. Great stuff!

I don't have a "favorite" but this is what I'd like to be played at my funeral.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Keith Green would have continued to be a huge influence in the Christian Contemporary world to this day had he not been killed in that plane crash. I never knew until reading up on him recently that he actually was being promoted early on as a teen as this huge heartthrob/music star but people like David Cassidy and Donny Osmond came along and overshadowed him. He was also good personal friends with Bob Dylan it turns out. I always loved his sound and it stinks that he was taken from us at such a young age.

Absolutely my favorite is Judy Collins singing Amazing Grace. The first verse is acapella, with nothing to distract from the power of the words. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtteRD5bBNQ
Strong second and third, and more contemporary, are

At Mrs. Tinyman's funeral, I wanted to pick one that epitomized her and her life, so Amazing Grace is mine.

The tune is based on a well known hymn from the early 1800's, Hyfrydol, which was used in several popular hymns with different lyrics. Here's a link to the lyrics and the (rather long) story of how the song got written: 7 Crows lyrics and story You'll probably recognize the original hymn quickly if you know it.....

Here's a good version of Hyfrydol....in this case "Alleluia, Sing to Jesus". Any church hymn with that organ is awesome....
