That sucks. Make sure the pump is inspected before tossing out; about 10 years ago, our pump up and quit. My neighbor happened to do well work on the side and brought out his electric hose puller. We dragged out 420’ of line and discovered that the power cable had worn through from years of torque spinning and relaxing, rubbing against the stone wall. The cable had worn down to a hairs width before breaking. We removed about a foot of wire, threw it back together, and it’s in service to this day. I’m sure you already know this, but spend the extra for a quality pump. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Yeah, I will. Turns out, since I put in my sprinkler system I had the wrong pump in there for my needs anyway, and the sprinklers may have hastened it's demise. So, we'll get the right one in there tomorrow morning and will be good to go. It's certainly got me thinking though. As a prepper, I kind of took water for granted (and I suppose we all do to an extent) especially living in close proximity to a large river. You just expect when you turn on the faucet water will come out. But, what happens when it doesn't? And what happens when there's nobody around to repair it? It seems I need to reevaluate a few things prepping-wise. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

We try to keep at least 5 cases of water in the garage, and I have a Life Straw for each family member squirreled away in the event things go REALLY south. I’ve also toyed with buying a quality portable electric pump that I can drop a line into the well cap in case of a long term outage. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I have had a shallow irrigation well in my back yard. Stopped using it a few years ago when the old pump went TU. Recently renovated the front lawn and installed a new pump and real nice new plumbing. Was even setting up underground sprinklers in front. The new pump was running great until one time no water. The well dried up like overnight. Years past it ran full blast all year. Your luck is spreading SIGnature NRA Benefactor CMP Pistol Distinguished

God help you. As Buck Owens and Roy Clark used to say, "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all." ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.
