I hit the drag strip for the first time in 2 years. My previous time was 12.89@107.1mph. I did a little weight reduction and supporting mods so I'm pretty pleased with the improvement.

Nice run, you don't see to many 3000GT around anymore.

I'm always impressed by the SRT8 Grand Cherokee they are the perfect grocery getter IMO. Depending on the year the initial years had 425HP and if I'm not mistaken the newer models are closer to 500. The big thing though is they always come with AWD and just make them monsters from a launch. Back when I had my 05 SRT4 they offered the SRT track experience. I had a blast at that event driving the SRT lineup on the track and still remember watching an instructor drift the GC SRT8 around the corners at Beave Run road course.

Thanks guys. My car is stock still turbos (very small), ECU, and injectors. I have bigger turbos to throw on and hope to trap ~122mph with those. That Cherokee SRT8 was nasty! He was turbo and far from stock.

That looked like fun. My brother has a 3000GT SL with a 5 speed manual. While it's no VR4 it's a fun ride.

They are heavy cars. What all did you do to shed some weight?

nice run. How much weight did you take off the car? The "rule of thumb" is every 100lb is 1/10 of a second. Those Jeeps are pretty nasty. I have a built motor, big turbo one at my shop right now that runs 10s

They aren't really that heavy. 3800lbs stock. New cars weigh that or more these days. I did lighter wheels, a stock non turbo cloth manual seat, adjustable rear control arms, VAC and EGR delete, clutch assist delete, antenna delete, front wiper bottle delete, and a lightweight crank pulley so far. I still have AWS, full interior, stock radio and CD changer, AC, and cruise control. Haven't weighed but should be ~3650lbs now.

If your brother is on facebook, please have him join our Carolina 3/S group. I have a meet at my house coming up on 9/30.

My buddies' VR4 is one of the top 2 or 3 fastest cars I've ever been in.
