Nevada officer pulls over hearse traveling in HOV lane
Guess they enforce HOV lanes more stringent than voter registry.

The news link shows the "hearse" was a minivan, most commonly used to transport a body to a funeral home. It was not the formal hearse used in a funeral. The officer most likely had no clue there was an extra passenger until the stop.

HOV lanes are like turnpikes/toll roads. Who ever came up with the idea and/or implemented it, should be crucified upside down and their head put on a stick.

This is quite fascinating to me since Scott Peterson is doing time for 2 murders.
They can’t have it both ways. The fetus can’t be a human that results in a separate homicide charge and be disposable at the same time. The driver (and the officer for that matter) is already fooked having to drive on Vegas freeways...

I have driven the hearse or removal wagon in HOV lanes before. Never had a problem.

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

I don't wear a badge. I was in the DA's office working for them.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Your initial response however clearly implied that, with "I would have written that ticket all day, everyday." Impersonating an LEO then?? I thought you were this guy featured below:

Just a couple points for consideration…
Driver was given a warning, not a citation.
Evidently Nevada law does not specify the person needs to be alive or occupying a seat. I would think that makes it a gray area.
There are those that would argue “intent” (such as Flashlightboy) but the counter to that is a newborn in a car seat “counts” and they certainly aren’t “a driver” who would otherwise be another car on the road.
So, such a ticket could be challenged and possibly dismissed. I’d like to see the dolts responsible for writing laws write clear, concise, and complete ones. Would make everyone’s life easier. As far as I am concerned a bad or poorly written law is worse than no law.
What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

But if they did that it would put thousands of lawyers out of business. . . .

If the corpse counts in the HOV lane then can we write the corpse for not wearing a seat belt?
