Man, 243 years old. I thought 200 was old when I was a young jarhead watching the bicentennial birthday parade and festivities, at Camp Pendleton in 1975.

Happy Birthday Marines. I had a busy birthday yesterday. I was fortunate to read the Purple Heart citation for a 98 year old Marine that was wounded on Saipan and never received his award. It was a humbling experience. I was a guest speaker at a local Marine Corps League ball. I almost my entire career with 3rd AA Bn, my son was with 1/6 and my daughter in law VMU-2.
