The handgun remains of retired law enforcement officer Bob Stewart. His house, in the Coffey Park neighborhood, burned down in the Tubbs Fire.

The semi appears to be a 1911 of some sort, the two revolvers under it look like Smiths.

The grip frame on the upper revolver is not something I've seen before. Ruger maybe?

Beyond that, hard to say.

It think the auto is a S&W M39. Look at the front sight, rear sight, extractor, and the single sided safety.

To me I see an 1911,three smiths,two are a model 15 or later with the model 36 in the bottom of the stack

the auto is a 39/59/52 type

Smith revolvers and a Snith 39 or 59 series.

Smith semi auto. You can see the decocker on the rear of the slide.

If it were my insurance man asking me to confirm my loss, they were Korth revolvers and the 1911 that John Browning gave my granddad back in 1910 to test

Three S&W revolvers with the fixed sight one being a 5 shot model, most likely a model 36. As for the other two enough of the chamber is visible in the right revolver to make me think it's either a 357 Magnum or 38 special, so guessing at them being either model 19's or 15's. As for the semi I am going to say it's a model 59 because it was the original "Wonder 9" double stack that was adopted my MANY police agencies in the 70's and many a retired Cops typical first semi.

BTW, my BIL has his fathers (Retired NJ Cop) model 59 and takedown on these pistols is a distinct PITA and the sights are darned near invisible for those used to today's much more visible 3 dot sights.

Is that an alloy frame on the semi? Looks like aluminum melt in some spots.

I see some empty brass in the box, and that semi-auto is locked back. I can see the loose ammo going off. Suppose the semi fired off a round and locked back?

I would make an educated guess that they used to be functional.

The auto is S&W 39. The 59 has a straight back strap. The one in the pix is curved= mod 39.

Revolver in upper right is the original first production Charter Arms Bullpup 44 Special.
Nope, just noticed the pinned barrel.


The two in the lower left are S&W Model 15 and apparently one Model 19 "K" frames.

I'll guess Model 19 on left, Model 15 in middle bottom, Model 39 Auto on top, and Model 36 3" square butt on right.

Think the Model 19 is on the middle bottom - longer frame.

Top pistol is definitely a Smith and Wesson semi auto. Possibly a 39. They've got the telltale safety on the slide.

The revolvers appear to be post-lock S&W's.

There's no substitute for a real fire safe.

Good point. That looks like a magnum length cylinder. Maybe both of the ones on the left are 19s. I was kind of going by hammer shape.

Same target hammer is used on the 15's and 19's.
