As the unit gets older and puts out less heat does the current used also reduce?
I have a small one in my upstairs bathroom and it seems like the heat output is dropping.

Probably using less energy if the heat output is less . Ohm's Law and all of that stuff ...

Could be, I toss them after a few years, even when cleaning they end up with lots of dust inside, degrade performance, replace them with a newer model they are not that expensive, kind of disposable...

Depends on why its putting out less heat. If it uses multiple nichrome wires or ceramic resistors as heat sources and some have broken or failed, then it’ll use less current. If the AC voltage has dropped for some reason, then its current is also less (assuming a resistive heater). If dust or crud is blocking airflow, then the current isn’t less, it’s just become less efficient.
