Gander is light years better with their pricing than they used to be.

I have bought 2 optics there that were decently priced. I got the Good Sam membership and with the discount they were cheaper than anywhere online.

About $300 less combined than anywhere local.

Might be worth a look for anybody that hasn't been to one since it was Gander Mountain.

The thing about Gander Mountain was that their pricing was never constantly good or bad. It was always crazy though. You could get good deals there but you could also get screwed.

My favorite GM story was the time I was looking for a O/U shotgun. They had two Stoeger Condors right next to each other on the shelf, one new and one used. They had the used one priced 10 bucks more than the new. Same exact shotgun and no extras or anything. We asked to make sure. Nobody could tell us why they had marked the used one as more.

Gouger Mountain:
I was staring into the showcase and there were Browning Hi-Powers in it. That looked like they had been dragged for ten miles down a dirt road then cleaned with salt water.
And they had no magazines. $499.00
I asked sales staff two questions:
1- Who in the name of God buys a used handgun without a magazine?
2- How can you price a gun without a magazine and in the condition these are in at $499.00?
No one could answer.

Only went there to buy the BIG bottle of Hoppes #9 and Carharrt pants. That's it.

We had one open near me. I went to the grand opening thinking I'd get a deal for their grand opening. Nope, walked out empty handed and vowed to never go back. Over priced, used guns for what new ones sell for and unhelpful idiots behind the counter.

I remember reading one of our members getting a good price on a SIG at their going out of business sale. So I guess if you catch them as they are shuttering their doors it might be worth it.

I couldn't even find anything to buy at my local GM when they were going out of business. Even their blowout prices when the doors were closing were stupid. Good riddance.

I’ve seen that a couple times there myself, once with a mossberg 500 and then with a SS Ruger 10-22

The CEO of Camper World (that bought Gander) stated he didn't want Trump supporters in their stores. So there is one just afew miles from my house and haven't stepped foot in one since CW bought them. Same with Dicks. They don't want my money no problem.

When my local GM went out of business I would stop in every couple of weeks to check gun prices. Just before they locked the doors, you could get most guns for just 10% more than you would pay anywhere else. What a deal! I didn't buy anything.
