Hi what are we using to post pics in the classifieds or other rooms in here

I use postimages.org

They have been reasonably reliable, and are free. Just make sure you are properly logged in to your account.

I have noticed that my browser may think I'm logged in, but when I upload, the picture doesn't show up in my folder, and I have to log in properly, and re-upload.

Same here.
It'll still give you the embed code if you aren't logged in, but I don't know where the images go
