A good friend recommended FreeTaxUSA.com for e-Filing with no fees. Painless Big Grin and recommended. Smile

efiling saves you the hassle of going to the post office and be on edge until it gets to the IRS.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

E-filing also means that if you're eligible for a refund, you'll get it in a week or two, rather than months.

For a simple return (no itemizing deductions), it can be done in ~10 minutes. I've used Turbo Tax's service for years. H&R Block also offers it. I used it once, but the following year the site was down. Opt for direct deposit and if you're getting a refund you'll see it in typically 5-8 business days.

The filing service I cited does not have an income threshold above which you cannot use the service.

And yeah Q. I've always mailed it in the past. O2

You're telling me you can use the interwebs for more than just arguing about Glocks and looking at cat photos?

What will they think of next? Big Grin

Back when I was working I used to come home on the weekend and do my taxes, filed with HR Block on Sunday. Usually had my Federal and State refunds before the next weekend. Been a fan for a long time now.

I did mine today too. I have been doing it for several years now. I should have my refund by this time next week.

I did mine on paper and mailed it up until a couple of years ago, when the IRS decided to take nine months to process returns, and were so behind that they wouldn't even answer the phone Roll Eyes.

After that debacle I decided to do the e-file thing. FreeTaxUSA is quick and easy and saves most of your info from previous years which saves time as well. They do charge $15 per return for your state taxes, but it's worth it for the convenience.

I've been using HR Block's free e-file service for years--nearly a decade if not more. The recent addition of the ability to photograph your W-2 is a godsend. No more inputting individual boxes.

I used to put in my employers ID number and it would download it for me.

I got my paperwork mid January and e filed the same day with direct deposit for the refund. It showed up at the bank a little over a week later. I now have a Colt 1911 Classic and a set of elk stag grips.

I always like to ask. What was the reason for not doing it sooner? I don't trust the web? I have always done it this way? I like stamps? Wink
