Thank you Very little |
Flown them a few times from Sanford-Orlando to Latrobe, no problems ever, it's a no frills company since you understand this and it's a quick flight their policy won't be an issue. Big seat is nice and lots more leg room, more than most traditional full fare carriers. Have heard all the talk about on time, delays, etc, didn't experience it but we've only taken a couple of trips on Spirit since Allegiant opened up service to Clarksburg non stop out of Sanford-Orlando Going for a longer trip, luggage, several hours in the air, probably spring for a full service, but having said that, full service means water, peanuts and no room anymore. You can go to https://www.flightstats.com/v2 and put in the flight number, it will give you the on-time, or not on-time stats for that flight...

Based on one trip on Spirit, I can say without equivocation, NEVER AGAIN. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Delayed flights, sitting on the tarmac for hours, rude people, dirty plane....want me to keep going? Once was more than enough. Never again. Proverbs 28:1

I stayed away because of their reputation of having problem passengers but having needed an emergency flight within 24 hours they were the only ones who had reasonable airfare and by reasonable I mean around $120 one way with no checked luggage or carry on which was fine by me. Since then they're in my regular rotation of airlines to price check when booking a flight. More often than not even with the carry on and checked luggage add on their prices beat the others by a significant margin and they fly direct for most places I regularly travel. The best part is that because they charge for carry on most people opt to not pay for it so I've never had a problem with my carry on getting put in the cargo hold because the airline "ran out of space." That alone is worth using Spirit as I keep things in my carry on that are fragile which is why they're in my carry on to begin with. I say fly with confidence. ETA: I forgot one of the major perks. If you fly with a pet they don't make you forfeit your personal item like Jetblue and they charge $125 to fly your pet vs. $150+ like all the others. Spirit is almost a must fly when my dog travels with me.

TO add, you can use your AMEX Platinum air line credit $200 with them if you signed up, and you can get a Spirit Rewards membership at no charge, they probably have a CC program that offers up a good deal, they'll prompt you to get one while you are on the plane. Sometimes you earn enough for a free ticket just signing up.

Savor the limelight |
I have not experienced rude passengers on Spirit. Drunk though, yes. It was an entertaining flight. The brother and sister were going down to Ft. Myers Beach and staying at the Lani Kai. I asked them if they had stayed there before and they mentioned there was a shooting there the last time they had been there. I remembered the shooting from the news. They were also pleased to have met Dave in line when they were checking in. Dave promised to hook them up with pot while they were there. Well worth the $50.
