President Trump 's tax reduction is providing a YUGE economic benefit.

"…Apple plans to take advantage of that provision to bring back about $252 billion in offshore cash, generating a tax bill of roughly $38 billion. It's something that Apple CEO Tim Cook promised the company would do if it could avoid being taxed at the 35 percent rate that had been in effect under the previous tax law…"

That one repatriation could pay for more than half of the wall by itself.

Apple in general and Tim Cook are Liberals and quite anti Trump.

But...
Apple are greedy, but not stupid. Huge bucks (that was a "B" as in BILLIONS) rules the day in the end. It was just too costly to repatriate the funds before. I'm pretty sure this will be done, but it will be a bitter pill for them to swallow.

Edit to add:
They will likely ease their sore poopers by donating a portion to some worse than useless social justice type cause.

Pipe Smoker, Your link is behind a paywall for me...
Direct from Apple link...

Text bolded below by me for emphasis.

Snip:
Apple, already the largest US taxpayer , anticipates repatriation tax payments of approximately $38 billion as required by recent changes to the tax law. A payment of that size would likely be the largest of its kind ever made.

Snip:
Apple expects to invest over $30 billion in capital expenditures in the US over the next five years and create over 20,000 new jobs through hiring at existing campuses and opening a new one. Apple already employs 84,000 people in all 50 states.

Snip:
Update: Apple today also told employees that it will issue a bonus of $2,500 worth of restricted stock units following the introduction of the new U.S. tax law.

"But Trump said shithole!"

I love Sigforum. I just posted these articles plus an article where Apple says to Obama "Those jobs aren't coming back" to a liberal group to drive them crazy.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Pretty good for an old fat man!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown
