I was working just outside of Manassas at the time the Bobbitt incident took place. Middle of the work day when the news broke and I saw a couple female coworkers having a good laugh. Back in the '90s I saw a Howard Stern New Years pay per view that someone had recorded on an old VHS tape, and he did a skit recreating the incident.

Reminds me of a Boudreaux and Thibodeaux joke (cajun humor). I'll probably get it wrong since I heard it years ago.
Boudreaux and Thibodeaux are driving down the road and happen to be behind Lorena Bobbitt when she threw her husbands penis out the window.
BAP!! It hits the windshield of their car and then falls off. There's a minute of silence and then Boudreaux says "Hey, Thibodeaux, did you see that bug that hit the windshield?"
Thibodeaux says "Mais oui, did you see the dick on that t'ing?"

I had a manager who was a paramedic for a while. He said when he started, the guy who was his supervisor called sport bikes "dick rippers." Mike asked him why, and he said "I dunno what it is, but every time we respond to a crash where one of those guys has killed himself, his dick is ripped right off. Never fails." I guess there's some truth to it.

It's plausible. The extreme crouched-forward riding position typical of these bikes would put extra pressure on the 'nads.
