The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is taking donations for victims of Harvey...I sent my first in today (this is going to be a long haul situation)...the LCMS has a good reputation based on the long term support given after Katrina, both in volunteers and financial aid for those who needed help to get their lives back together (if that is really ever possible after events such as this )...

12131, You have always been so generous in your KARMAS...and I pray that we can continue to be as generous in our support that will be so desperately needed by the thousands of folks whose lives have been flipped upside down (or worse) by this hurricane...you are an inspiration and I thank you for that

Don't enter me in the KARMA but I took down 24 cases of water to the local Red Cross office as that was one thing they wanted. I am sure this situation will need long term support due to the massive damage and impact on the lives of all the people harmed.

I donated to this person ( Deke Schlicher) who is a disabled VET in Texas that I met on the NRA-ILA app where I am known as hip shot.

We are seeing amazing support in our area. I worked with a group most of the day yesterday and we were able to clean up 4 houses. Hopefully the water will recede enough today we can get to my sisters house. Not very hopeful much will be recovered. Police/National Guard can get in by boat. I have some friends that are flying drones into the area for pictures. Please keep Houston in your prayers. Thanks again for all the support.

I have contributed via the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief), but I don't want to be entered in the karma. UMCOR is often one of the first groups to respond to these situations with food, clothes, etc.

I have donated funds to our employees as we have offices in Corpus and Houston with thousands of employees affected. My Houston employee I work with regularly is shut in with a few feet of water and can't get out. I need her in Austin and she is unable. I wish I could drive down and help myself but am limited to fund donation. God bless everyone.

Edit: Thought about it. If I win, the rifle goes to my friend's brother in Houston who is one of the affected. Unmarried, jolly guy in his late 40's. He;d shit a brick winning this AR and probably be one of his best days so it goes to him.

My wife donated 5 cases of diapers from Costco to the Harvey victims, so I guess that means I am in apparently that is a hard to find item at the moment.

I spent the morning helping muck out a home for an elderly couple in Katy.
It is overwhelming to see an entire lifetime of memories piled up in the front yard.
And it was amazing to see the numbers of people who have come to help.

The experts in logistics always stage diapers and water to send in after disasters.

I'd like to submit my cousin for this karma consideration.

The storm hit Houston on Saturday, and on Sunday morning he was headed down from the Lufkin area as part of a large convoy of boat owners. He spent two days there rescuing people by boat, went back to Lufkin for a night to gather more supplies, then returned to Houston.

After doing some more good in Houston, he's now over in Lumberton assisting there. I'm not certain of the number of people and animals he's saved--he doesn't post them on Facebook--but he has mentioned many of the other incredibly brave and selfless rescuers he's met. At this point he's been in a boat helping people for at least four or five days with very little rest. Through it all he's still somehow managed to find time to get requests for supplies and other volunteers out via Facebook for different groups and areas.

I'm very proud of him and glad to call him family.
