Neighbor took this video of a coyote that is roaming the golf course and around several neighborhoods that buffer the course in the area.

When I got home from Las Vegas at 1:30 am our garbage can was knocked over. This was first time in 29 years so I suspect it was the coyote as it would take a good size dog to move the can and our neighbors don't let dogs roam.

Florida Fish and wildlife considers them a nuisance and the problem of the property owner to trap or dispose of the coyotes and since it's on the golf course perhaps they will take care of it.

Otherwise, 522 with silencer and some high velocity CCI or MPX with 9mm.... Going to have
to watch the dog in the early am or evening constitutions she takes...

Maybe it's a good time to buy a Judge and load it with shotgun shells....

Any restrictions on how you "dispose of them?"

Here is the web page on them, due to the proximity of homes, joggers, pets, golfers I'm guessing trapping would be best vs unleashing a volley of lead in the general direction.

Had one run through just the other day. I can tell you that they're no match for a 45-70.

where I live, coyotes - perhaps a dozen - are a common sighting around here

I hear them once a week, on average. Usually a few.

Was upstate for the Junior/Senior hunt with my kids a few weeks ago.

Both got does. That night as we were chillin' out by the camp fire you could hear a pack of coyotes going nuts every 20-30 minutes. In all my years hunting in PA I've never heard anything like it before.

We used to just leave the dear hang all night but I took them off the rack and put them in the garage for the night.

My daughter would've been mighty pissed if a coyote chewed up her first deer.

My neighbor has them coming into his yard at night. Local DNR won’t respond unless he has them on camera/film. It’s an HOA so not allowed to shoot if he even had a chance. He’s working on a trail cam setup. They are getting into trash and poop around the only tree in backyard. Haven’t seen any myself, yet, though they are in our area.

If your not allowed to shoot in area you could try a Havaheart trap.

We watched one trot across the back yard about dusk a few years ago. Saw one trotting across one of the highways around here a few months back. We've occasionally heard them calling.

They come and they go, around here. Based on the food supply, I expect. We see/hear signs of them. The bunny and feral cat population declines. We soon stop seeing/hearing the coyotes. The bunnies and cats start re-appearing. Eventually the coyotes return. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Like most wildlife: They leave me be, I leave them be. Can't shoot 'em, here, anyway. Housing's too dense and it's an ordinance violation.

Trapping is the only viable way, too dense population to go shooting, lock up pets, put up food, don't put garbage out overnight etc.

I suspect the hurricane drove some of them out of the woods, and it's inevitable due to the flooded areas they normally roam, water in lakes and rivers are way over normal levels..

Shot one with the 30.06 last weekend.

Lets just say it was overkill at 100 yards.

I have a few from time to time. And I think some of my neighbors feed them, thinking they are stray dogs.

We don't have a lot of pets that roam, just a few neighbors that insist on letting their cats out overnight to roam.

If they get caught then they can be let loose, only interested in the Coyote...

My only comment here is that I’ve read stories that indicate depleting the population only causes a massive input. It’s like they sense the depletion in numbers and reproduce 10fold to counter it. Ymmv

We have a large population around me,they are a common sight all around my house in Chicago.
I love to read the neighborhood Blog, the libs are either scared to death, with have to call the cops, to the other extreme of lets feed them,or fun for now until my dog or cat doesn't come home anymore.
Huge populations of Rabbits, squirrels, and deer can't help but attract them. We had a Mountain Lion shot by CPD a few years back a few miles from here.Wolves and Bear spotted within 60 miles of the city. People claim Wolf/Coyote mix in the city.
We are all good,Tiny Dancer will protect us from the beasts!
We are a sanctuary state now.
