This is a point-of-use, 4 gallon water heater that I'm using as a booster for the kitchen sink. My sink is a distance from my main hot water heater and the supply line runs in the slab and then through a crawl space. During the winter, it seems like forever until the hot water arrives. I timed it recently, which happened to be on a 60 degree day, and it took 25 seconds before the water started to feel warm. I know, first world problems Big Grin It's not just that I'm impatient but it's seems very wasteful.

I've lived with this issue for a long time and I just got fed up. I bought the unit online from Home Depot because returning something like this is hassle free with them. The reviews looked pretty good but I honestly didn't do much research because I figured these things are all made in one or two factories. It just so happens that I hit a sale because I paid $129 and as I was getting the link for this post, the price is back at $209. Home Depot Link

I had the unit for a couple of days but just got around to installing it today. The installation was real easy and I set it up to benefit the dishwasher as well. You do need to have some room available because the unit is around 15 inches square. You can mount the unit on a wall or on it's base.

The first thing that i noticed that i didn't like is that the threaded connections are plastic. I just love to make things gorilla tight so I was careful attaching the hoses.

It's up and running and the hot water is basically immediate; it's a tremendous improvement.
