I watched it live last night; it was tough to see. He's a really nice young man.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. Well it was certainly entertaining listening to the two Brits providing play-by-play commentary. Tacfoley, are there large numbers of baseball fans in the U.K. receiving a stream like this?

Not this time. It was just a close play, and Piscotti was caught in the middle. Baez really shouldn't have even gotten the error on the play, the ball just got to Home Plate about 12" high.

I watched it live last night and in half-a dozen replays.

Piscotti was definitely cold-cocked, unconscious for a few seconds, and I'm guessing will have a concussion, but I'm hoping there's no permanent damage.

He's OK
... but that video is hilarious.

BTW, I had 4 tickets but couldn't go.... had to work the local election. But my wife and friends had a good time at the game.

I was mere reciting an old saw. There is not much chance of intentionally letting a run score so you can hit the runner. That would be kind of an "own goal." Moreover, how many infielders can throw that accurately. Most of the time, the throws are not that close. I suppose a catcher could pull his mitt strategically, but in the heat of battle, not likely.

I know, and figured you were being humorous. Sorry I sounded a bit like an old grump in my response.

I don't think he was out. His hands went to his head immediately. Had to hurt though.

Two years ago, Piscotty took a knee to the head in an outfield collision that was really bad. You have to worry a bit because those head impacts add up.

The play by play is audio stolen from a spoof video going around the web, featuring a soccer goalie (Scott Sterling) who keeps stopping balls with his face during an overtime shootout.

Then you haven't seen this:

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

That hit on the elbow looked unpleasant, but the knockout was uncalled-for.
