Well I guess we are over the top with our coffee needs/enjoyment. We like strong dark roast coffee, after trying many different brands we decided on Sumatra for our daily fix.

We took coffee to an entirely new level, we purchase 10# of green Sumatra coffee beans and roast roast our own. Following that we seal the roasted beans in an airtight container, then add them to a
Breville link and set the timer. Before you ask it sounds like a train wreck when the grinder goes off but damn, what a difference. Once the grind is complete it steeps the newly ground coffee before filling the pot.

Before we get flamed, I agree it's way over the top for coffee but we enjoy good, fresh roast coffee. To take it one step further, we grind each days beans before we leave for a trip and use an old fashioned percolator in the hotels.

i liked the flavor of our percolator, too. Unfortunately, the thermistor kept going bad so you need two. Fix or replace while using the backup. Seems to be a common problem. Wife also hated all the grinds in her cup. We went back to a regular drip maker.

That is kind of over the top….for travels when I drive,I have a separate coffee maker and grinder to take with me. Different from the everyday one in the kitchen. Flying, the travel grinder still goes but the coffee maker is the AeroPress.

Once you start down the path of roasting your own beans there is no coming back, the deep end keeps getting deeper. But,I do get to enjoy coffee from all over the world.

My focus is almost all Sumatra anymore........a very good bean actually comes from the BJs-Wellsley Label - 2-1/2# for ~$19 is not bad.

A Barratza Virtuoso grinder and Technivorm drip maker and I'm good to go.

I use a coffee grinder and a Keurig with My K-Cup at home and when I go to Hawaii for a couple of weeks every year, I stay in the same Condo and they have a Keurig, My K-cups and a grinder.

I like it fresh ground every morning and we take along a 12 oz. bag of Kona coffee beans for 2 weeks.
