Just listen to what she says about these issues:

Yes, by God, go around my property. A man shouldn't have to fight this or even justify his position on such a thing. You know what you can do with all that pipe, lady.

"Oh, they're not taking his land. They just want to dig up part of it."

Hell.

No.

Well, she's right on one point: It IS a shame that only the wealthy can afford to fight eminent domain.

ANY landowner that's paid up on their property taxes should be able to tell the government to pound sand.

What arrogance. Fuck off, commie. She makes it sound like the City has every right to expect a tax paying citizen to be forced to comply by virtue of the fact that others need it, his rights be damned. You can bet the city is not done with him, not by a long shot.

Now replace her words about that guy being wealthy enough with the word Constitution.....

"There's something really wrong with this guy's ability to use the Constitution to cost the city of Dallas millions of dollars"

I don't want to say what should happen to that woman, other than send her on a one way ticket to space and leave her there. The audacity of that she-devil makes me sick. The comment about an average citizen and being able to do what we want to them made me sick. I knew this law would come back to haunt us and given to scum like this, it has.

So she feels ‘bad’ that ordinary people get their land taken, but she’s infuriated that someone stands up and fights them (and has to be ‘rich’ to do it), and would likely win?

She’s a c!@t of the highest order, suitable for tarring and feathering.

That women should not serve in any government. She is disgusting and frightening.

How dare he, how dare a private citizen have the means to fight the government about taking his personal property? We should be able to steamroll any citizen we want at any time. Citizens should just cave in and give up and give us what we want when we tell them like good sheep.

Seems there's a lesson for the second amendment in here also.

Fuck that city council

Booh frickin' hoo, you commie witch.

This whole 'eminent domain' thing has gotten out of hand. Local govts have gotten used to simply taking what they want that they have abused it to no end. I'm glad to see somebody 'fight city hall' and win, for a change.

I wonder what the dispute was over.

In emminent domain, there are only two issues, public purpose and just compensation. Nobody is deprived of property without being paid justly, although “justly” may mean different things to different people. The property is normally taken for some public use, road, water/utility use, etc. In some places, there has been a trend towards taking property for economic redevelopment which is controversial.

To spend years, and millions, and a lot more lining up candidates in Austin, etc., there must have been a serious amount of property involved, not merely going across some guys 5 or 10 acre homestead.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

It's infuriating that if you're rich enough you can hold the city hostage...but he'll probably win if we take it to court.

When people who can't afford to fight us come to us and say "please don't take my property" we just take because they're ordinary people.

WOOOOOOOOW!!!! Unbelievable that she actually said that out loud.

We know we are taking peoples' land unjustly, but they can't afford to fight us so we do anyways. They all need to be fired.

If I had my land taken under eminent domain because I couldn't afford to fight, I'd use that statement right there to sue the living shit out of the government for knowingly abusing their power. She flat out admitted it.

It is truly sickening listening to maggots such as this, and knowing that, at least half of our government is run by such filth. Pissed me off so much, I could only last half of her nonsense. Mad

That was my thought as well especially since the c*nt mentioned Tarrant County (where Ft Worth is located as Dallas is in Dallas County).

What right does Dallas have to exercise eminent domain if it's not in the Dallas city limits? That may be the reason why they stated they would probably lose.
