story :
http://qctimes.com/news/local/...22-f1ada2bcd823.htmlgist:
According to the indictment, Granada acted in a reckless manner when she operated her vehicle “at a time when her visibility was materially obstructed by ice on her vehicle’s windows, not allowing the driver, the defendant, to have a clear view of the roadway.”
she was too forking lazy to clean off her windshield or to drive cautiously.

sigmonkeyOnly from the old criminal class a long time ago. So grain of salt.
Charged for number of possible ways the crime can be committed.
Sort of the "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks".
Because many cases are based on the interpretation of eveidence, and the understadning, presenting or charging all possible theories of thought may be covered under differtn laws.
For example, operating a vehichle in a known unsafe manner that has a high probability that could lead to death. (obstructed windshield).
Operating a vehichle in a reckless manner.
Two differnt things that resulted in the same outcome, so both charges, allow for both to be considered, rather than only trying for one.
