JonDaddy82Winston-Salem NC
Going to be moving from the Nashville area to Winston Salem in a few months for work, anything I need to know about the area? From checking on Practiscore it looks like the shooting scene sucks compared to what I'm used too in middle TN.

ApphunterI lived in the area my whole life and currently live in the largest town directly east called Kernersville.
There are a few ranges around but not many.
any other questions?

JonDaddy82Any areas to avoid really, home purchase wise? I'll be in a downtown apartment starting out till I figure out a free standing home. I've always lived in super free states so this is gonna be a big change for me. State income tax, vehicle inspections, emissions, personal property tax, very few gun ranges, etc etc.

SIG4EVAIts not a bad area and has grown a lot recently. The downtown is revitalizing. Any specific questions about the area?

Hah! Hey neighbor!
The closest range I've found has some absolutely absurd rules.
Example being "no more than 5 rounds in your mag at a time"

Apphuntermostly avoid the east side. It will be obvious what to avoid. I am not sure what are you looking for more rural, suburban, urban and your price range.

chongosuerteI grew up just west of it in Yadkin County. Much more rural and fun friendly. Close enough to commute depending on where you’re working.

JonDaddy82Yea I guess in retrospect there's not much to know that I haven't already figured out. Housing is actually just as much as it is in middle TN which is surprising/depressing.
