Man, I'm glad I started this discussion.
A lot of topics I know nothing about (like the Joseph Mabry story) have been brought up, likely giving me a lot more questions, and a lot more learning to do.

mcrimmI learned that I am a failure as a parent. My 40+ year old daughter and her husband just picked up a cherry 20 year old Corvette with less than 10,000 miles equipped with a 6 speed manual transmission. She has never drove a manual.
I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

FlashlightboyI learned today (more like a daily affirmation) that my wife is bad drive with no ability to consider space, time and orientation.
She has Waze on her phone but refuses to use it because "I know where I'm going" but that doesn't mean she really does. Not more than 20 minutes ago she called me from her car to complain about work, missed her exit and had the balls to say it was my fault she missed it because I was on the phone with her.

Fed161I got a new Medicare card today with a new claim number. The letter that accompanied the card didn't say a lot. What's unusual about this is that a got a new card with a new number just a few months ago. So far I have had 3 different medicare numbers. So I called and was told there was yet another data breach and that's why I got a third number. The lady said it was not unique to me and tens of thousands also had their medicare numbers hacked. The result has been all kinds of bogus medicare claims and a loss to the tax payers of a whole lot of money. That's what I learned today.

BassamaticI was sitting here reading all of this and wondering if i learned anything new today...and then I realized that I did.
I learned that it is possible to find a DVD for the remake of Das Boot, the one with the first three seasons, that will play in North America. It's on Amazon for 34 bucks. If you want the fourth season, it's a separate disc and sells for 27 bucks. But will not play in North America.
What the hell?

Scooter123I learned that it's really wise to take pictures as you take the action on a Beretta 686 apart. It took me nearly an hour to figure out how to properly position the Inertia Lever Spring. Took me about an hour to figure that one out. BTW, this part was a bit of a firearms booby trap. However in this case it didn't launch parts across the room, instead that tiny spring fell on the floor.
I've stopped counting.

.38supersigToday I leaned that the Palmetto, Ga. post office has five of my packages that they apparently don't want to deliver.
Yesterday they only had three of 'em.

1967GoatI didn't learn anything, but my 11 YO son learned how to do the front brakes on my 2010 Tahoe.
They're pretty much the same as the 67 Pontiac, except the rotors come off easier on the 2010 4WD.

myrottietylearned that the turkey I put in the wrap yesterday must have been bad. (Can't really smell since COVID x3+ years ago) So found out the hard way this AM at about 4:30 in the morning. Thought I was gonna have to call an exorcist for my back side.
