Blast from the past?
I'm sitting in my living room and I hear a really luscious aircraft sound a little while ago. I have ADSB up on my computer. N99420 came blasting over my house at about 2,000 feet of altitude making that glorious sound. It took off from Wiley Post airport just a few miles away. By the time I was able to get out and look, it was gone, but I could still hear it.
N99420 is a year 1944 manufactured Douglas A26 Invader B26B (according to FAA N-number website and a google search.
It was damaged by a collapsed nose gear in 2016 at Oshkosh. I have no idea how long it was in repair status or why it was in OKC today. It's currently on a ESE-rly flight path.
If I'd known it was here I'd have driven over and got some pics of it.
Anyway, that's my much enjoyed blast from the past event today.

Anytime I hear radial engines I run outside. Would love to see the A-26. Dad flew them some in Viet Nam. He flew A-20s in New Guinea in WW II.

I do the same thing. In the summer months the Yankee Air Museum flys the Yankee Lady B-17 and Rosies Reply B-25 Mitchell out of Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, MI. If their flight path is north from the airport, they pretty much fly over my house in Northville. I jump up and run outside to watch the plane, my wife thinks I'm nuts and it causes my dog to bark like crazy. When I hear the big radials flying over head, I try to imagine what a multi plane sortie must have sounded like in the 40's.
