120mm mortar ammo can uses? Login/Join

One of those thing that looks tempting but not sure what I'd use it for are these long ammo cans:

120mm ammo can

Aside from short firearms, what would you folks poke away in one of these? Remember, the can itself weighs 22 pounds.
Thanks

That seems like a righteous price for a good-sized box. I think I could find a use, but then I'm a sucker for boxes & cases. I recently bought (4) 1630 Pelicans just because the price was to good to pass up.

If you filled it with ammo and locked it shut no one could steal it. They wouldn’t be able to MOVE it!

looks like something someone would fill with miscellaneous junk, throw in the corner of their garage, and never touch ever again.

Emergency food stash. Being waterproof it would most likely survive flood waters.

I'm just thinking that full of anything useful, it would be too damned heavy to move, and reaching in to get small bits our of the bottom would be a pest.

Nice box, I just don't see how I would comfortably use it.

I could see using these for kitting up stuff like camping supplies. I'm imagining putting all your cooking gear in one of these so its all in one place and you just have to grab one box and throw it in the back of your pickup and know everything you need is inside.

A 16 inch M4 Carbine is 32 inches with the stock fully collapsed. Probably still have room for 10 loaded mags. Just saying’

I got two of them five years ago, just because they seemed cool. I have yet to use them. Freeze dried food is the best idea yet, because it's light. But my food is in #10 cans, they will not fit.

I was thinking two ARs, mags and enough ammo for those mags.

Buy two.
One for the AR's and mags;
one for your MRE's
Add one shovel.
You are prepped.

I put 12ga ammo in a 20mm can and it's ok but I would think with anything else it would be an anchor.

I have one and have been mulling over making it a lamp for the gun room or a coffee table in the man cave with a glass top.
