Chinese satellite predicted to crash 6:33am ET on Easter Sunday
“Out-of-control Chinese space station, Tiangong-1, is predicted to reenter Earth's atmosphere at 11:30am BST (6:33am ET) on Easter Sunday.

The space craft is carrying highly toxic chemicals and could crash into a number of highly populated areas, researchers claim.

Areas that could be hit include New York, Barcelona, Beijing, Chicago, Istanbul, Rome and Toronto.

When the station does eventually enter the atmosphere it could unleash a 'series of fireballs' that will be seen by observers. …”

Oh please make it Beijing. If not, NY or Chicago could use some cleansing.

Always wondered about that.

The sky is falling - the sky is falling!

While it is certainly fun to panic, almost all of the space station, if not all of it, will burn up in the atmosphere. Anything toxic will be greatly diluted, and not add measurably to pollution. The path of where debris will enter the atmosphere is highly unpredictable, and if any pieces do make it to earth, the chances that they hit anyone are pretty damn small. Much of the possible "danger zone" is ocean.

There isn't actually much to worry about.

Yes. According to the various outer space treaties, a nation is responsible for its spacecraft, rocket bodies, and assorted junk from the moment it leaves the pad to when it re-enters the atmosphere.

So, they would be legally liable for any damage resulting from a possible impact on foreign soil.

I'd park my truck out front hoping it got hit as I believe collectors pay big bucks for stuff that's been hit by stuff falling from space.

So, you are saying that this is going to add to Global Warming. Curse those yellow devils.
