Blue Angels over head – practicing for this weekend's air show at Miramar Marine Air Station. My home is about five miles west of the base – where they turn and regroup for another pass over the base. Cloud cover today, so they're lower than usual – I can sometimes see the pilot. Loud, too – sets off car alarms. I love it!

Saw them in Duluth, MN earlier this year at the air show. They were impressive to watch.

But with the cloud cover we're going to have the show will be rather limited.

Oh and as a retired sailor, aviation type, whenever the Blues were in town it was a pain in the butt.

One of the things I miss most about San Diego is driving down Miramar Rd as the planes roared by overhead.

We're in Scripps Ranch, north of MCAS Miramar, and we are enjoying the flyover practices today. Not as close as yours, I think, Pipesmoker. Are you in La Jolla?

Hoe to go Saturday or Sunday, have to work tomorrow.

They were just here over Labor Day weekend in SE Michigan for a show(s). They practice right over my house. They are so low on some of the runs I can see their faces practically when out on my deck. I love the noise!!

My wife and I just go up to Target on Michigan Ave and we watch the hour show.

They are here every year. They are amazing at what they do!!

Before moving to Coronado, we lived over by UTC. The Blues flew a path most years right behind our house, so low we could almost see if they were using Firestone tires or Goodrich! They would set off all the car alarms between La Jolla Village Drive and Governor, and our cats would be nervous wrecks for days.

I had a scanner and the various frequencies so I could sit there and listen to them talk back and forth. Very exciting!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Yes, on Nobel Dr. Near Regents.

BTW – The Blue Angels don't wear g-suits! I suspect that they do a lot of sit-ups for abdominal strength.

I am looking forward to seeing them next Sunday at the HB airshow just up the coast from SD. If it is the same as last year my house will be right on the inbound for the high speed runs so I will get a fun airshow saturday, then be show central Sunday.
