Calls I can do, and they just go right to voicemail, so that's improved, but I'm stumped on texts.

"Filter Unknown Senders" is on, but all that does is send it to an unknown sender folder and the damn phone still rings. Mad

There's got to be a way to block these assholes completely, no?

Between professional recruiting agencies and politicians, I'm getting dozens of these calls/texts a day and I just can't fucking take it anymore.

If you go to Settings-->Apps-->Notifications-->Messages, there is an option at the bottom called "Customize Notifications" where an option to allow notifications from Unknown Senders can be turned off. Maybe this might help?

^^^^^^^^ The problem with that method is that the Unknowns would still be ringing my phone. Yes, it sends them to their own file, but it did no good as the damn phone still rang and I'd have to check it.

MrToad's method worked. I've gotten three Unknowns since I posted last and none of them rang through. Thank you again, sir!

(ETA: Looks like the previous post was deleted. Didn't see who wrote it.)

With iOS 18.0.1 I do it this way:
Settings> Apps> Messages

Click the “Filter Unknown Senders” switch to “on”.

Put phone on "Do Not Disturb" and add people from there to "Allowed" or select "Favorites" or "Contacts" as you desire for levels of "accepting calls from" based on your level of who you want permit.

For instance, only "Allowed" (Think, Emergencies) for when your sleeping, "Favorites" when you only want "intimate family/friends" and "Contacts" for anyone anytime except unknown or people not in your one of your lists.

(I just realized you stated "texts", I focused on "damn phone still rings. Mad ". This is for calls)
