A man's got to know his limitations |
His book Will was a good read. RIP Gordan. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

We need more people like him in the Republican Party today. If we're going to play by the rules we're done, our enemy the Democraps crawled out from beneath the sewer illegal is nothing to them and if we don't fight them them the way they do us we're done. Look at 2020 we needed some Liddy types to bring it to the Democraps and Socialists. After 2020 right and wrong, illegal or legal are meaningless concepts. We can feel good about playing by the rules while we're beaten down by the opposition.

Wow, you guys are such typical Republicans of the highest order. You know, the sort of people, who, when they hold a majority in Congress never actually accomplish anything... G. Gordon Liddy got busted for doing one thing. Searching for evidence of Communist influence in the DemocRAT party. I realize you guys probably stay pretty busy patting yourselves on the back for your esteemed ethics. You probably haven’t noticed just how much Marxist ideals have become the norm in the democRAT party today. Oh, no... We should NEVER cross the line and engage in unethical tactics, especially when the very foundation of our country is at stake. Come to think of it, I’m quite sure the CIA never engages in any borderline nefarious activity in order to counter the spread of communism. Surely not! We should focus on our moral superiority and just let the communists take over, then sit back and wonder how it happened. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure Liddy was the only lawyer to ever bend the law. You know, lawyers are so ethical and all. G. Gordon Liddy was an Army officer, lawyer, FBI Agent, was married to his wife for 53 years, several of his children became career military officers. That’s a pretty good success story if you ask me. In case you geniuses haven’t figured out why we keep getting our asses handed to us by the communist democRATs, one of the chief reasons is Republicans tend to throw their own people under the bus every chance they get. Anyone who compares him to Comey is fucking delusional!!

What a great thread. I met the G Man once, at the '96 GOP Convention. His son and I worked together at the RNC then. I haven't kept in contact with him beyond being Facebook friends, but he did very right by me and I'll never forget it. When he announced on FB the other day that his father had passed, it was a kick in the balls.

I'm sure you were proud of the FBI when they bugged MLK Jr's hotel room illegally and released the dirt on him to harm his political credibility too. It's not "delusional" to recognize that it's wrong when cops (and former cops) decide their mission is more important than the Constitution and laws they swore to uphold. If following that oath is an example of "moral superiority", count me in. Liddy didn't "bend the law", he considered himself above it and broke it, clearly...unless burglary is no longer a crime. Comey, MacCabe, and the others who attempted to first derail Donald Trump's campaign and then tried to deny him his term in a lawfully elected office as president by lying under oath, illegally spying on Trump and his supporters, and leaking fictitious stories to discredit him, did so with the same feelings of "moral superiority" you claim to oppose. I'm sure Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, Sara Jane Moore, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, and James Hodgkinson (who shot U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise) believed in their cause too. The question isn't what justifies committing crimes in order to achieve a political goal, it's whether or not our nation is governed by the rule of law or whatever someone thinks is necessary to win at any cost. If you support the "by any means necessary" philosophy appropriate, consider the company you keep. "I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."

Would you guys please do me a favor and stop with the "This!" stuff? Surely you can find a better way to signal your agreement. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Putting G. Gordon Liddy in the same category as those shitbags you mentioned is just plain sickening. If you can’t see the difference then you’re part of the problem. Republicans like I said, have a tragic “throw ‘em under the bus” mentality. You sound a lot like Mitt Romney with your Holier than thou mindset. Not sure you noticed, but democRATs have pretty much negated the justice system. There are enumerable examples of this twisted two-tier justice system in which we find our selves in these days. You appear to be an idealist with very a simplistic Black & White point of view. Fact is, for literally generations, federal and local governments have operated mostly in the gray areas. While it would be nice if everyone played by the rules, democRATs have made a mockery of the rule of law. I’m sick of our side constantly finding fault with EACH ORHER, sitting on their ass letting Marxists advance their agenda and continue to erode every pillar of our representative republic and society as a whole. There’s a time and a place for everything and I think we’re long overdue for some well played political offense. There’s probably a lot of people on here who didn’t particularly care for Liddy or the things he did, but he paid his dues and served his time. To criticize him and lump him in the same group of vermin you mentioned, upon his passing is pretty low. You could’ve just remained silent on the subject. Of course that would necessitate a certain degree of class, which apparently escapes you.

RIP G man. Enjoyed his show back in the day. Took the newsletter and remember him going after the Vince Foster suicide like a Pittbull. I considered him a bit eccentric but never doubted his patriotism. Over the last several years I've wondered what his opinions \comments would be with regards to the current state of the FBI.
