tacfoleyNeither of 'em have the appearance of youngsters who would develop into worthwhile and valuable citizens.
As for 'where did they get they gun and vest' question, well, they must have been easily accessible and handy else they would not have been used.

Gocad"After Broad Jr. gives a nod Vining, he allegedly shoots him four more times, according to the clip."
Riiight. Pretty sure that's not how bulletproof vests are supposed to be used.

chongosuerteI had friends this stupid when I was that age.
I’ve buried them for other things already by now, but they would have totally done that if they had the opportunity.
I would not. I drew the line many times. But they were good friends.
Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.
Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

joatmonvI just see this as thinning the herd personally.
Add in some Tik Tok challenges and those that aren't destined to make it won't.
I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

On the nose.

Another friend who was present at the time of the shooting, 18-year-old Evan Vowell, reportedly took video of the incident, which was later given to law enforcement, according to Click Orlando.
Another stupid stunt to get their 15 minutes on Tik Tok, a pox on our society.

joatmonvProud “Florida Man” here. Born and bred. What y’all don’t realize, we still take all the warning labels off of tools and pill bottles down here. It is a form of culling. We do not uphold our Stupid, and Idiots in Florida, we merely get out of the way, and let Darwin take his course. When you try to make everything Idiot Proof, the Idiots merely say “Challenge Accepted, Hold my Beer!” The rest of Y’all can keep yours safe, but know this. When they get older they Breed and make more. We’ rather ours just make those funny videos as they remove themselves from the Gene pool!
I laughed way to hard at this comment on another site. It's truth though and I would imagine a lot of people feel this way.

walker77Back when I was that age we would shoot each other with high power BB guns. That was stupid. I don't have any words that would come close to describe this bunch.

sourdough44I didn’t do a deep dive into the details, ammo. Not saying it’s a great idea, without knowing I’d guess 9mm FMJ ammo.

sigfreundThis sort of thing is hardly unique and similar incidents have been reported over the years. One I recall involved a couple of kids deciding that a big, thick phone book of yesteryear would stop a 30-06 Springfield bullet.
The incident does demonstrate two things that gun rights organizations, especially the NRA, have preached for years: Children should not be permitted unsupervised access to firearms, and children and others should be taught the lessons of gun safety rather than refusing to discuss the subject. And part of the latter is forthrightly teaching the dangers firearms pose if mishandled.
In this case we can only speculate given (as usual) the limited amount of information provided, but some vests will fail if struck several times or the bullets hit close together, and something that is often forgotten is that not all bullets fired at a person wearing a vest always hit the vest.
