The race starts at 1:30PM, we'll be parking at the mall and taking the bus over, what time should we arrive before in order to get through everything and seated before 1:30PM?

It depends upon how much time you want to spend outside the track before you make it to your seats. The teams will have trailers lined up ready for you to purchase their products.

The Daytona Hotel is a cool place, if you can get a room in it.

Bring layers, I froze one year in shorts and T shirt. We got up in the stands and the wind was stiff and cold.

I use to enjoy walking around outside, haven't been in years though.

Definitely 3 if not more. Traffic is bad there during non events, it’s an absolute nightmare during events. So much stuff has been built up there the past few years.

Issue isn't from the lot to the venue, it's getting to the lot, 2 Hours minimum better at 3.

Imagine you're coming up 95, there are several local roads around there, and it depends on if you can get to them

Normal path would be 95 to Speedway (92) to the mall.

You can get off of 95 at Beville (exit before Speedway) then go to the first light and Turn left on Williamson, turn right at the light on Midway around the back of the track past the airport and it will go straight to Volusia Mall. If 95/92 is backing up this is best way

If Williamson is backed up, continue on Beville to Clyde Morris, go left and that will take you to 92/ Speedway and go Left a half block to the mall.

Bring your rain gear. The forecast is looking like you will need it.
Its also starting an hour early. They are trying to beat the weather or get enough of the race in to call it early.

This was a last minute plan. Literally made the decision yesterday and bought tickets with a buddy. We live in Pompano Beach so are leaving at 7 am and looks to be a 3:15 hour drive......with stops should put us there 10:30-11am (without speedway traffic), we'll see how it goes.

NOW looks like cold front isn't coming until Monday and no rain tomorrow afternoon. We shall see. Then driving back home after the race, it's going to be a long day.

Hope it stays dry so it can be completed. Sounds like a lot of fun. The spontaneous of it should make it a day to remember. Have a great time.

Even though Nascar has had its woke problems. Great to see the President is there and they had a great National Anthem and flyover. Doing some nice coverage of the event so far. Seems like they have made an effort to do better. I will give them that. Enjoy Jimmy!

Gentlemen, start your engines!
Great to see the President there!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The Thunderbirds screwed up their National Anthem flyover. They were about 8-10 seconds early. . .

The crowd went nuts over President Trump. They drove him around the track in The Beast (presidential armored limo).

He was mingling with Richard Petty pre-race.
